Hi joyce. I am good. Nice to meet you.
~^^ Thank you for teaching me . I am very busy nowadays. Because , I go to graduate school. I am studying to be a producer. I want to be an awesome producer and I have to speak english very well. But English language is more difficult than Korean language. That's okay.
And I have a question. My N.Y friend said, "Don't say 'Yes'. Yes is too- nerd expression in The states!!!Nobody say yes. So You say 'yeah'. Yeah is a formal expression , Don't worry
~ Yes is used only in the law court!"
It's really? T.T???? Thanks~
Good day!
With the word " Yes ", it may be too-nerd to hear but that is actually the formal respond/word when you agree to someone especially when you are attending a meeting, conference, seminar, lecture and other formal gathering. We, as professional we have to use the appropriate words in a professional environment. Even in our textbook, in some dialogues we could see the word "Yes" because that is sounds more formal. "Yeah" is the non-standard spelling of "yes" as representing informal pronunciation.
However, it isn't wrong to use the word "yeah" in conversation among friends.
For example:
"Did you find your wallet?"
"Yeah, I left it in the other room."
Thank you. Have a great day! |
